Abstract
Neurointervention is a fast-growing subspecialty, and recent trials have demonstrated its role in ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke. This has generated tremendous interest among interventional neuroradiology, neurology and neurosurgery communities. Nevertheless, formal teaching programmes that provide the required experience are limited, and many early career practitioners are not exposed to the crucial technical details essential to safely performing the procedure before they start practising independently. The book presents 100 characteristic case studies to illustrate the salient technical and clinical issues in decision-making and problem solving during the procedure. This book conveys the “real-world” issues and solutions that are not addressed in detail in most books. As such it is a practical teaching book with useful “tips and tricks” on how to handle specific challenging situations, and is particularly useful for fellows in neurointervention training programmes.

Abstract
Significant changes have taken place in the realm of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery during the last five to ten years. Many new operative procedures have been developed which remain relatively unknown to cardiothoracic surgeons. This practical manual covers a wide variety of these new processes, several of which are interventions offered to cardiologists practicing in the field of electrophysiology who are unaware that these interventions exist and can help them in situations they cannot solve. It includes general practical techniques; cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery procedures; and advances in cardiology and electrophysiology. Throughout the book, illustrations accompany the technical descriptions and show in step-by-step detail how to perform the operations and various procedures using proper equipment. Cardiothoracic Surgical Procedures and Techniques: A Practical Manual is an essential resource for physicians and related professionals, residents, fellows, physician assistants (PA), and graduate students in cardiology, cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery.

Abstract
This is the first textbook entirely dedicated to the endovascular treatment of complications related to arteriovenous accesses for hemodialysis (native fistulas and prosthetic grafts). The book addresses the anatomy of upper limb arteries and veins as well as the clinical presentation of patients and the way to perform and read a fistulogram. Many details and illustrations are provided, clarifying the subtleties in catheterization and the dilation of stenoses. From a strategic point of view, it is explained for the first time that many stenoses must either be ignored or deliberately underdilated. Many images help understand the different stages of recovery from thrombosed accesses. The number of incident dialysis patients increases by 5 % every year, which means that this is a field of growing interest. There are several annual or bi-annual meetings held by numerous national or international societies (vascularaccesssociety.com, sfav.org, vasmad.org, dialysiscontroversies.org, asdin.org).
Contents
Glory and weakness of interventional radiology in dialysis accesses -- The nephrologist, the interventional radiologist and the place of the vascular access in the treatment of end stage renal disease -- Vascular access strategy -- Natural history of vascular accesses -- Radiological anatomy and pre-operative imaging of upper limb vessels -- Which indications and which imaging method for the dialysis access? -- Psychological and clinical aspects -- Clinical pre-requisites prior to angiography -- Angiography (fistulography) -- Dilation and stents -- Hand ischemia -- How dealing with the thrombosed access? -- Percutaneous occlusion of dialysis accesses -- Diagnostic and interventional radiology of arterio-venous accesses for hemodialysis: a European perspective -- Clinical complications during and after endovascular treatments -- Immediate and long-term results of interventional radiology in dialysis accesses -- Annexes. Abstract
This book looks at specific vascular surgery questions that have arisen and where careful analysis is given according to the level of supporting evidence available. As new technology is introduced to treat the cardiovascular system, alternative therapies begin to challenge and also complement traditional vascular surgery. All chapters contain the PICO table to summarise specific characteristics relative to the questions posed in each chapter. Difficult Decisions in Vascular Surgery: An Evidence-Based Approach is a current and timely reference source for practicing surgeons, surgeons in training, and educators, that describes the recommended ideal approach, rather than customary care, in selected clinical situations.

Abstract
This book provides clear, concise guidance on the surgical management of all kinds of emergent vascular problems and focuses in particular on open surgical strategies. The aim is to provide a combined text and hands-on guide that will permit rapid retrieval of information when treating vascular surgical patients in the emergency room. Emergency Vascular Surgery: A Practical Guide is organized into two sections, on specific body areas and general concepts. The first section covers the body from head to toe, with separate chapters for injuries and non-traumatic disease, while the second discusses general principles relating to emergent vascular surgical practice and provides broad vascular surgical guidelines for the inexperienced surgeon. Chapters in the first section are uniformly organized, addressing incidence, etiology, and pathophysiology; clinical presentation; suggestions for workup and diagnosis; and management and treatment. Initial management, selection of patients for emergent surgery, and the performance of common vascular surgical procedures are all carefully explained. The focus on a hands-on approach and practical tips will be invaluable in the clinical setting for both more experienced surgeons and newcomers to the field.

Abstract
This volume provides a concise and up to date resource that directly addresses the needs of general surgeons who perform vascular surgery by focusing on the diagnosis and clinical management of common vascular conditions. The volume is divided into sections on arterial disease, venous disease, vascular trauma, and vascular access. Chapters on arterial disease outline the management and surgical techniques for the treatment of acute limb ischemia, compartment syndrome, and diabetic foot infections. Chronic arterial disease is addressed in chapters devoted to the management of claudication, critical limb ischemia, and lower extremity amputation. The section on vascular trauma emphasizes surgical intervention for blood vessel injuries that occur in the neck, abdomen, and extremity. Vascular access chapters deal with the technical aspects and potential complications of temporary venous access catheters and permanent arteriovenous access for hemodialysis. More complex vascular topics are also covered with chapters that are shorter in length and focused on the diagnosis and a broad understanding of treatment options. Essentials of Vascular Surgery for the General Surgeon is the first of its kind to accurately mirror the SCORE curriculum for vascular disease as a patient care topic in general surgery training, acting as a "one stop" information source that general surgery trainees can turn to as a clinical reference and as a study guide for general surgery in service exams and board.

Abstract
Neurointervention in the Medical Specialties is a first-of-its-kind reference that serves as a bridge between the neurointerventionalist and the physicians who most frequently look to these specialists for answers to some of the most intractable problems they face. Providing background on the wide range of diseases treated through neurointervention along with the indications and alternatives to such treatments, this landmark title is grouped into four parts: an introduction to the tools and anatomical structures that are integral to the field; disease processes most often encountered by neurologists, cardiologists, and vascular surgeons; those diseases more frequently treated by neurosurgeons; and finally those diseases first seen by several other specialties including ophthalmologists and head and neck surgeons. Importantly, each chapter includes details of neurointerventional technique and case discussions that are sufficiently detailed to provide a treatment template and guidance to neurointerventionalists in training and practice. At the same time, the descriptions provide referring physicians with insight into how neurointerventional procedures are performed. Finally, there are several concluding, thought-provoking chapters that examine what new opportunities await the field of neurointervention on the horizon. Neurointervention in the Medical Specialties is a major contribution to the literature and invaluable resource for all clinicians and researchers interested in this exciting field.

Abstract
This text is a fully updated and revised third edition of a highly successful text. The format of this text is unique and has been very successful. A total of 286 short chapters organized into 24 Sections provide operative dictation templates for all of the common and the vast majority of the uncommon and even rare operations performed by general and vascular surgeons. Each chapter also provides a succinct synopsis of the operation through bullet-ed lists which include Indications, Essential Steps, Note these Variations, and Complications. The book thus serves two purposes: these operative dictation templates can be used verbatim when dictating the operative note for a procedure; and the book provides ready reference to the trainee going into the operating room to do the procedure for the first time, or to someone preparing for their Board examinations. Space for notes allows surgeons to personalize the book and turn it into a resource unique to their situation. Fully updated and expanded, Operative Dictations in General and Vascular Surgery, Third Edition includes significant additions that include flexible endoscopic procedures (now recognized as a core part of general surgery training and practice), single incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and robotic approaches to the rectum. The endovascular procedures have been significantly expanded, as have the approaches to venous disease and to A-V fistula creation. Operative Dictations in General and Vascular Surgery, Third Edition is intended for practicing surgeons, who may modify each template to reflect their own individual practice. It also serves as a concise reminder of essential steps in those operations that may be only rarely performed.

Abstract
The management of venous pathology has been revolutionized by technological advancements. Venous disease is now managed with a wide variety of techniques that collectively allow physicians to diagnose and treat venous problems in ways that few surgeons would have anticipated even a decade ago. Techniques include laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, chemical ablation (sclerotherapy), high ligation with or without stripping, ambulatory phlebectomy, powered phlebectomy, subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery, three-dimensional venography, and intravascular ultrasound. All of these topics are covered in this comprehensive, up-to-date textbook, which guides the practitioner through every aspect of care of the venous patient and includes essential background information on anatomy and pathophysiology. This book is exceptional in that it is based entirely on the curriculum designed for board certification by the American College of Phlebology (ACP). A further unique aspect of the text is the integration of ultrasound and various other imaging modalities, that play a fundamental role in diagnosis and management. The authors come from a wide range of specialties, mirroring the diversity of practitioners who care for patients with venous disease. The book will accordingly serve the needs of vascular and general surgeons, interventional radiologists, phlebologists, nurses, ultrasonographers, allied health professionals, and scientists, as well as American College of Phlebology fellowship candidates and those preparing for board examinations in vascular surgery.
