Abstract
Chronic venous disorders are a major health problem due to their wide prevalence and socio-economic considerations. This book is a comprehensive manual providing state-of-the-art information on the diagnosis and management of these common problems. Till recently venous disorders have been getting secondary attention as compared to their arterial counterpart. However, the last two decades witnessed major technological advancements and therapeutic strategies for these problems. Written with a surgical perspective, this monograph covers the latest developments and recommended procedures in an easy-to-read format guiding the surgeon to prepare a rational treatment plan. Supplemented with numerous figures and illustrations, the chapters update the readers with how to evaluate such patients in their practices, selection criteria for appropriate procedures and how to manage the complications. The book includes basics of venous disorders, primary varicose veins and recurrence after surgery, chronic venous insufficiency, venous ulcers and congenital venous malformations. Detailed coverage of endo-venous procedures such as radio-frequency ablation, laser ablation and foam sclerotherapy are additional essential features of this book. Primarily intended for the practicing general surgeon, this volume is also relevant for residents in general surgery and vascular surgery.

Abstract
This volume is a complete manual of operative techniques for battling a severe liver injury. It provides an easy pre-operative and intra-operative reference with clear illustrations, line drawings as well as actual intra-operative color pictures, supplemented by online video segments. The early sections of the book deal with the fundamentals of surgical anatomy and critical maneuvers in the resuscitation of the patient in extremis. The various technical maneuvers for manual control of hemorrhage, debridement-resection as well as formal lobectomy of the liver, the identification of biliary tract injuries and other miscellaneous techniques, such as balloon tamponade of missile tracts, are discussed in complete detail. The book also sketches the role of liver transplantation surgeons in the acute trauma setting. The final chapters focus on the urgent problem of teaching operative techniques to young trauma surgeons in an era of dwindling surgical experience. Written by authors who are world- renowned experts in trauma management, often termed "master-surgeons", Operative Techniques for Severe Liver Injury is required preparation for all surgeons who are likely to face a massive crush injury of the liver.

Abstract
The management of venous pathology has been revolutionized by technological advancements. Venous disease is now managed with a wide variety of techniques that collectively allow physicians to diagnose and treat venous problems in ways that few surgeons would have anticipated even a decade ago. Techniques include laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, chemical ablation (sclerotherapy), high ligation with or without stripping, ambulatory phlebectomy, powered phlebectomy, subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery, three-dimensional venography, and intravascular ultrasound. All of these topics are covered in this comprehensive, up-to-date textbook, which guides the practitioner through every aspect of care of the venous patient and includes essential background information on anatomy and pathophysiology. This book is exceptional in that it is based entirely on the curriculum designed for board certification by the American College of Phlebology (ACP). A further unique aspect of the text is the integration of ultrasound and various other imaging modalities, that play a fundamental role in diagnosis and management. The authors come from a wide range of specialties, mirroring the diversity of practitioners who care for patients with venous disease. The book will accordingly serve the needs of vascular and general surgeons, interventional radiologists, phlebologists, nurses, ultrasonographers, allied health professionals, and scientists, as well as American College of Phlebology fellowship candidates and those preparing for board examinations in vascular surgery.
