Abstract
This second edition provides an updated review on the current guidelines and practice standards for the clinical management of cardiovascular risk factors and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Endorsed by the American Society for Preventive Cardiology, this practical textbook includes concise descriptions of major and newer risk factors, biomarkers, and best practices in the management and prevention of cardiovascular disease. The manual contains chapters on the epidemiology and risk factors for a variety of cardiovascular diseases including dyslipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, inflammation, and ischemic stroke. It examines behavioral factors, psychosocial stress, family history, nutrition, physical activity, smoking, alcohol use, and other sociocultural factors. In addition, the book discusses new imaging strategies in detection of cardiovascular disease, prevention of heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and peripheral arterial disease, and prevention for special populations. Throughout the manual, recommendations are based on guidelines endorsed by the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and other major societies. The second edition of the ASPC Manual of Preventive Cardiology is an essential resource for physicians, medical students, residents, fellows, nurses, and other healthcare professionals and researchers in cardiology, primary care, health promotion and disease prevention, exercise physiology, and pharmacotherapy.

Abstract
This two-volume textbook--the result of wide-ranging collaboration among renowned experts in aesthetic surgery from the Americas and Europe--presents state of the art concepts and techniques from across the entire spectrum of cosmetic surgery. It opens with some of the last writings of two of the giants in the discipline, Fernando Ortiz Monasterio and Daniel Marchac, whose contributions set the tone and standard for the rest of the book. In all, there are ten sections covering every aspect of plastic surgery. A very wide range of surgical procedures that can be utilized by the plastic surgeon in training as well as by the established plastic surgeon are described in detail, and in the case of the face, nonsurgical treatments are also fully considered. Further topics include the history of the specialty, legal issues, and anticipated future developments, including regenerative medicine. Numerous beautiful color photographs and skillfully executed illustrations complement the informative text.

Abstract
Ocular Disease-a newly introduced companion volume to the classic Adlers Physiology of the Eye-correlates basic science and clinical management to describe the how and why of eye disease processes and the related best management protocols. Editors Leonard A. Levin and Daniel M. Albert-two of the world's leading ophthalmic clinician-scientists-have recruited as contributors the most expert and experienced authorities available in each of the major areas of ophthalmic disease specific to ophthalmology: retina, cornea, cataract, glaucoma, uveitis, and more. The concise chapter structure features liberal use of color-with 330 full-color line artworks, call-out boxes, summaries, and schematics for easy navigation and understanding. In print and online at expertconsult.com, this comprehensive resource provides you with a better and more practical understanding of the science behind eye disease and its relation to treatment. Includes access to the fully searchable text online at expertconsult.com, along with images and references. Covers all areas of disease in ophthalmology including retina, cornea, cataract, glaucoma, and uveitis for the comprehensive information you need for managing clinical cases. Presents a unique and pragmatic blend of necessary basic science and clinical application to serve as a clinical guide to understanding the cause and rational management of ocular disease

Abstract
The second edition of this important book provides an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of clinical lipidology. Brand new chapters focus on recent advances in the field including novel biomarkers and the microbiome, genomics of cardiovascular risks, PCSK9 inhibitors, imaging technologies, and epidemiology of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The book describes new guidelines, novel therapeutic agents, and changes in the understanding of specific lipoproteins and subclasses with regard to their relationships to cardiovascular disease risk. The second edition contains more than thirty chapters covering such topics as the history of lipidology, lipoprotein metabolism and vascular biology, disorders of lipid metabolism, lifestyle/dietary and pharmacologic management for dyslipidemia, the management of dyslipidemia in certain subgroups (e.g., women, children, older patients) and lipid testing, as well as an examination of other biomarkers and testing procedures related to atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. The second edition of Therapeutic Lipidology is an essential resource for physicians, medical students, residents, fellows, and allied health professionals in lipidology, cardiology, endocrinology, pharmacotherapy, and health promotion and disease prevention.
